Academic Program

Our academic program is not replaced by purpose; it is supported by it. We follow the standards of the Georgia Department of Education but are not limited by them. Our staff recognizes the importance of individual enrichment and modification, and they are capable of doing both. We teach all core required courses and all curriculum used at The Campus has been proven to be profitable within this particular setting and meets all the guidelines of the state and the Board of Regents. We are accredited by The Georgia Accrediting Commission, and have been accredited fully since our inception.

We offer placement and annual achievement testing. We also offer special SAT/ACT preparation. All students are given a variety of reading and math diagnostic assessments upon entrance to The Campus. Annual standardized testing is required at the middle school level and optional for high school students.

In the course of the last eleven years, we have had the opportunity to deal with many colleges and admissions offices. We have placed students in Georgia universities, state colleges and private colleges. Additionally, several of our students have entered college outside of the state of Georgia. During the students' junior and senior year at The Campus, they have opportunities to participate in college visits. Several colleges, pleased with the success of past Campus graduates, have begun recruiting from The Campus.

Program Specifics

We believe small group instruction to be beneficial and we maintain about an 8 to 1 ratio for science and humanities and average a 4 to 1 ratio for mathematics. At the same time, our class sizes are large enough for students to enjoy the benefit of various points of view and participation in discussion.

Campus students are able to participate in the production of a newsletter, a yearbook and develop "class pride". Our seniors have a senior trip, a senior baccalaureate and graduation complete with cap and gown. The Campus provides a beautiful blend of the natural strengths of a non-traditional model and the social experience of a small high school.
