The Campus Friday School
Campus Friday School seeks to take academic content and apply it in practical ways for real life success. This semester we will offer several classes designed to allow students to apply what they learn Monday through Thursday in fields that they are passionate about.
Classes Offered
Film Production - Film Production teaches students the basics of making movies. From conception to completion, it is a hands-on course that introduces students to different positions in the film industry. Students in film production work together to complete a film, study and appreciate great films, and discover whether Hollywood is for them or not.
Inklings - The Inklings were an informal literary discussion group made up of Lewis, Tolkien, and several other literary giants. This semester, we will be reading and discussing out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, as well as many of J.R.R. Tolkiens short stories. Through this semester, our hope is to develop a deeper passion for literature and so to have sparked creativity in our daily lives.
Fishing - Through this sportsmanship course, students will gain a deep and meaningful understanding of their environment and the wildlife in it. This course combines content knowledge and conversation with strategies on how to catch fish in both fresh and saltwater ecosystems.
SAT Prep - The SAT is an intimidating test for many. However, like in many areas, practice and knowledge help ease fear and replace it with confidence. The SAT Prep class is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and strategy to exceed well when taking the SAT. It will focus on math, writing, vocabulary and all that will aid the student while taking this important test.
